Omaha, Nebraska - Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) has been recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for by the Great College to Work For® program.
“I am incredibly proud that our institution has been recognized as a Great College to Work For by the Chronicle again,” said NMC President and CEO Deb Carlson. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our entire campus community. Our faculty, staff and administrators come together every day to create an environment that not only fosters academic excellence in healthcare education, but also supports the personal and professional growth of everyone who works here.”
Of 216 colleges and universities, 75 were recognized as a Great College to Work For. Forty-two institutions, including NMC, were on the honor roll, recognized as stand-outs in their size categories.
NMC is recognized in the following categories: Confidence in Senior Leadership, Faculty Experience, Faculty and Staff Well-being, Job Satisfaction and Support, Mission and Pride, Professional Development, Shared Governance, and Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness.
“This honor reflects our collective commitment to making this college a place where people feel valued, engaged and inspired. We will continue to build on this success and strive to maintain a workplace that cultivates innovation, inclusivity and collaboration,” Carlson said.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was employee feedback.
NMC received this recognition in 2013, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. It recognizes colleges that get top ratings from their employees regarding workplace practices and policies.
The results were released in the Chronicle of Higher Education, a top trade publication for colleges and universities, and by ModernThink LLC, a research and consulting firm.
