Omaha, Nebraska - Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) has once again been recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for by the Great College to Work For® program.
“As the president of this remarkable institution, I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this award. This accolade is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our college community to fostering an environment where every member is valued, empowered and inspired,” said NMC President and CEO Deb Carlson. “Together, we have cultivated a culture of collaboration, innovation and inclusivity, and it’s this spirit that truly makes our college a special place to work and learn.”
Of 194 colleges and universities, 72 were recognized as a “Great College to Work For.” Forty-two institutions, including NMC, were on the honor roll, recognized as stand-outs in their size categories.
NMC is recognized in the following categories: confidence in leadership; faculty and staff well-being; professional development; diversity, inclusion and belonging; job satisfaction and support; shared governance; faculty experience; and mission and pride.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was employee feedback.
NMC received this recognition in 2013, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. It recognizes colleges that get top ratings from their employees regarding workplace practices and policies.
The results were released in the Chronicle of Higher Education, a top trade publication for colleges and universities, and by ModernThink LLC, a research and consulting firm.
