Omaha, Nebraska - Kiley Petersmith, the director of the Center of Diversity and Community Engagement at Nebraska Methodist College (NMC), received Omaha World-Herald’s “Nurses: The Heart of Healthcare” award.
The initiative provides a way to publicly recognize heroism and dedication to caregivers who have made a positive impact on the lives of others.
Petersmith was one of seven nurses recognized during National Nurses Week.
“I'm honored to receive this award because I think it recognizes the very essence of compassionate care and dedication within the healthcare profession. To me, this award is a reminder of the profound privilege and responsibility that nurses hold in developing connection and trust with our patients and the empathy and service that is required to positively impact the health of our patients. It's an honor,” said Petersmith.
