10 Ways to Celebrate Black History Month | Omaha

February is Black History Month, and there are many opportunities to learn, discuss and engage at Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) and in the community.

NMC’s Social Justice and Inclusion Council encourages students, staff and faculty to participate in learning opportunities throughout the month.

Those who keep track of the Black History Month activities they complete can share them with the Social Justice and Inclusion Council at the end of the month for a chance to win prizes from local Black-owned businesses.

Black History Month learning opportunities:

1. Attend the Social Justice and Inclusion Council’s February Open Discussion Forum (for staff and faculty) at 12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 on TEAMS.

2. Sign up for the daily email series, 28 Days of Black History.

5. Take a tour of the Undesign the Redline exhibit at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

The Social Justice and Inclusion Council will reach out to staff, faculty and students at the end of the month for Black History Month activity submissions.
